Head of Internal Contracting – Internal Contracting

Back in September 1993, I stepped into InstaGroup as a fresh-faced Warehouse Assistant, and it’s safe to say I haven’t looked back since! Over the years, I’ve navigated my way through a lineup of roles, from Cavity Wall Installer to Technical Inspector, Technical Manager, Assistant Production Manager, Project Manager, EWI Construction Manager, and Senior Contracts Manager. Now, as Head of Internal Contracting, I oversee our internal projects with the same enthusiasm I had when I first put on that InstaGroup uniform.

Along the way, I’ve picked up a knack for spotting detail, managing teams, and handling projects of all shapes and sizes. InstaGroup has been like a second home, filled with opportunities, challenges, and plenty of laughs (and the occasional head-scratcher).

When I’m not steering projects to success, you’ll find me sharing a laugh with the team or reminiscing about some of the classic InstaGroup moments (if these walls could talk!). Here’s to more years of projects, progress, and perhaps a bit of harmless workplace mischief.

Depending on your course, you might learn entirely on the job, with our assessors visiting you on-site to see how you’re getting on. 

Who Can Apply? Our apprenticeships aren’t just for school leavers. Nearly a third of our current apprentices are over the age of 19, so if you’re looking for a career change or a fresh start, we’d love to hear from you!

Apprenticeship Opportunities at InstaGroup

  1. Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technician
    • 48 months completion
    • Available in Reading or Guildford
    • Minimum Level 2 qualification (GCSE grade 5 to 9) in Maths and English
  2. Electrical Installation
    • 4 years completion
    • Available in Guildford, Farnborough, or Bracknell and Wokingham College
    • Minimum Level 2 qualification in Maths and English
  3. Customer Service Specialist
    • 1.5 years completion
    • 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (or equivalent qualifications/experience)
  4. Construction Site Supervisor (Level 4)
    • 2.5 years completion
    • Available at Farnborough College (Aldershot Campus)
    • Level 3 qualifications, A-Levels, or appropriate sector experience required
